Seaweed-based glitter & holographic materials

These biodegradable glitters and holographic sheets were developed as part of my R&D work at SeaSpark. The materials are made entirely from seaweed biopolymers and do not contain any mica, reflective metals, or fossil ingredients. To our knowledge, this makes the glitter the first of its kind.

My work as the lead R&D scientist at SeaSpark is to improve the function and aesthetic quality of the materials. This includes tuning water barrier, optical, and mechanical properties to fit the user’s need. My work also heavily consists of exploring other future applications for these materials.
